Discover and celebrate with Community Science

Grande Ronde Public Lands Day is Saturday, September 27! To celebrate and support the gifts of our watershed, join us Saturday, September 27 from 9a-1p for the Grande Ronde Public Lands Day at Ladd Marsh Nature Area. The public is invited to engage in hands-on projects like:  Watershed Monitoring, Birding, Plant Walk, Site Clean Up, and Art activities Free lunch for volunteers who RSVP. Need help with transportation? Please let us know in the registration form. This event is part of National Public Lands Day (NPLD) - an effort that started over 30 years ago and has inspired hundreds of thousands of volunteers to give back to our nation's public lands in all 50 states and US territories.  Find more info here. Be sure to RSVP! Fall events are underway, and youth are investigating the watershed! Here are Cove 8th graders investigating Catherine Creek State Park's side channel project! We're working with new platforms - GLOBE Program + iNaturalist. Wish us luck! To help us better visualize our data, we are working with the GLOBE Program - a worldwide science and education program. Expect to see our water quality data showing up on this site throughout the season. Now, teachers (and anyone) will be able to compare and visualze data from all over the world, including our very own data collected by our local youth.  To help us record biodiversity across the watershed, we created our very own iNaturalist project.
