Our Mission

To build community wide ecological awareness for watershed resiliency throughout the
Qapqápnim Wéele / Grande Ronde watershed.
Goals
𓆟 Empower the communities in our region, especially underserved youth, to see themselves as community scientists and lifelong stewards of their environment.

𓆟 To be guided by and to amplify our Indigenous neighbors’ deep understanding of the Qapqápnim Wéele / Grande Ronde watershed.

𓆟 Increase our community’s connection to land and water by investigating our watershed.
Values
𓆟 Diverse restoration and monitoring strategies and narratives, including Indigenous ways of knowing, are necessary for sound ecosystem management and long standing ecological health.

𓆟 Young people deserve opportunities to learn in, thrive in, and appreciate the outdoors, so they become informed and engaged champions for our natural resources now and in the future.

𓆟 Everyone can do science.

𓆟 Career connected learning and STEAM education opportunities are boundless in watershed monitoring.
Vision
𓆟 The Qapqápnim Wéele / Grande Ronde watershed is ecologically resilient, and the people living within the watershed are ecologically informed.

𓆟 Educators, youth, scientists and Indigenous people collaborate to do real-world science.
